A friendlier way to play and learn music

Songparts helps you find a song, compare its playable versions, and choose the one with the parts you need. See the notes as a piano roll or guitar tab, hear the exact arrangement in your browser, and practice it on your own instrument until it sticks.

A catalog built by musicians

Everything here is uploaded and shared by the community — the songs everyone knows sitting right next to deep cuts and indie tracks you won't find anywhere else. No ads, no pop-ups, no file-dump: just a clean, searchable library you can browse by artist, collection, key or tempo.

  • Popular and obscure, side by side

A broad, deduplicated catalog where a chart hit and a forgotten B-side are equally easy to find and play.

  • Often many versions of one song

The same song frequently comes in several arrangements. Compare them at a glance and pick the one that fits — the right instruments, the better-sounding take, the fuller transcription.

  • Add your own — public or private

Upload a MIDI-backed version and publish it once it is matched to a song, or keep it private as a personal copy only you can see and play.

  • Piano roll, two ways

Read it as a classic horizontal roll, or flip to an arcade-style view with notes falling onto the keys.

  • Guitar tab & standard notation

Every file also renders as readable guitar tab and on a music staff — useful even when the source was never written for guitar.

  • Mix it like a studio

Mute, solo, and balance individual tracks, and swap any part's instrument from the full General MIDI sound set.

  • Slow it down, loop the hard part

Adjust the tempo, loop a section between markers, and seek anywhere on the timeline — all playing back through a real SoundFont synth in your browser.

A player that shows you the music

Songparts opens each version as something you can inspect and use, not just a file to save. Follow the notes, isolate a part, and understand the arrangement before you try to play it.

Practice mode

What makes Songparts different

Learning apps usually lock you into a small, fixed song list. Songparts uses the MIDI data behind each arrangement to turn the wider song catalog into a practice library. Pick a version, choose a part, and learn it with the notes, timing, and backing tracks intact.

  • Listen, Wait, and Follow

Watch it first, then play at your own pace as each note lights up, then step up to playing in real time with live accuracy and combo scoring.

  • Play your real instrument

Connect any MIDI keyboard, digital piano, or pad/drum controller over USB and play along directly — or use your computer keyboard or the on-screen keys if you don't have one handy.

  • Light up the keys

On supported lighted keyboards, Songparts lights the next notes right on the hardware, so you can keep your eyes on your hands.

  • Fingering & one hand at a time

See suggested fingerings on the falling notes, and isolate the left or right hand on piano pieces while the other part keeps playing.

  • Slow down, then build up

Practice at a fraction of the speed and bring it up as you improve; your best score is saved to your account.

  • Play by ear — coming soon

Awesome Lists

Beyond the catalog, we curate community directories of tools, mods, packs, and FAQs for popular music gear — from Teenage Engineering's pocket samplers to Elektron, Roland, and more. Hand-checked, attributed, and genuinely useful.
